Potter County Inmate Population is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, schedule visits, or pull official booking records. Use the official office or locator that holds the record you need.

Where to Request Records

For local jail custody, start with the Potter County Sheriff's Office and the detention center. The sheriff's records department handles public-record questions at 13103 NE 29th Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79111, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and PCSO says picture ID is required for public-record inquiries. Records questions go to (806) 379-2932. Jail custody questions go to the Potter County Detention Center at 13100 NE 29th Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79111, phone (806) 335-4100.

PCSO open-records requests may also be submitted through the sheriff's online form, by email at LEC-PublicRecords@co.potter.tx.us, or by mail to the sheriff's office address. Court records, certified copies, and case filings are requested from the court clerks rather than the jail.

  • For someone in the county jail, use jail inmate records and then call the detention center if the daily PDF is unclear.
  • For booking photos, use jail roster mugshots and request the photo from PCSO if the public PDFs do not show one.
  • For charges filed after arrest, use court records after a jail arrest, the Tyler court portal, and the proper clerk.
  • For a facility-specific question, check the Potter County Detention Center or William P. Clements Unit page listed in the footer.
  • For a sentenced Texas prisoner, use the Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmate search or Texas IVSS.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator System.
